Since its inception in 1995 at SIU Carbondale, halfway jane has made a name for itself taking their blend of blues infused modern rock to colleges and major cities across the midwest. After bringing their music back to Chicago in '99, their fan base has grown at an ever- increasing rate, along with their creative energies. Playing a repertoire which includes 2 CD's, they engage the crowd with scores of original songs, as well as a few classic songs with their own unique flavour. Their CD's, halfway jane and Take Three, are composed of all originals, showcasing their various jazz, blues, and classic rock influences. Their electrifying live shows are not to be missed
Bob has played guitar for nine years and enjoys modern rock, citing such influences as Counting Crows and John Mellencamp.
An eleven year veteran of the bass, Brian is strongly influenced by his father, Bob Aiken Jr, the late legendary bassist for Gurus of Blues. Brian, who has taken on the bass duties for the Gurus as well, is influenced by groups such as the Who, Yes, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
A love of the drums and classic rock show in the unique style of this drummer of 13 years. Nate lists his influences as John Bonham, Keith Moon, and Jimmy Chamberlain of the Smashing Pumpkins.
halfway jane's charismatic frontman puts tremendous emphasis on his lyrics, giving them genuine meaning. This results in a sound that is filled with power and emotion.
